jack cafferty agrees with the happy conservative

Check out the article here. Jack Cafferty asks the question of the hour.
And check out The American this month for an ariticle about happiness and capitalism.
Many of the commenters mentioned that economic success makes you happy, but Arthur C. Brooks notes that people report being no happier now on average than they did in 1973, [...]

friendship

I’ve been busy looking for the root causes of happiness.
So far, I’ve got baseball, flying, and as few trees as possible. Comfy tennis shoes. Rascal Flatts. Macaroni Grill and Starbucks. And, naturally, Diet Dew.
I’m not sure that this really cuts it. Although it might get close.
Coming soon: how friendship plays into happiness.

why hardcore liberals hate my posts

I’ve been getting a lot of flak recently for a post in which I argue for conservatism using tradition. People just hate that I apply to such a despicable thing as tradition in arguing for my values. Honestly, can’t you come up with anything better?

Country music mixed with
a little rock and a little blues
He said I’m sorry
but I’ve never been crazy
’bout that twang and trains and hillbilly thing
What ever made you [...]

Happiness Part II

My aspirations aren’t so grand. I want to go back and start a business in Tarkio and hire a bunch of Tarkians and make something good. I want a family of rugrats who play pirates with corn cobs and eat pancakes at their Grandma’s house and beat their dad at Stratego. I want to sit [...]

Happiness Part I

Why are people happy?
I’m happy when I’m doing what I like, surrounded by people I like, and it’s above fifty degrees.
I like to fly airplanes and listen to Mike Shannon call home runs and read books that don’t ask me to concentrate. I like classes that answer questions. I like open spaces and Raspberry Mocha [...]
